Jonesboro Elementary Families Explore Numbers at Interactive Math Night

BESSEMER, Ala. — Jonesboro Elementary School hosted a successful Math Night, bringing together students, parents and educators for an evening of collaborative learning and exploration.

The event focused on making mathematical concepts accessible through hands-on activities. Families participated in various stations designed to show how math applies to everyday life, moving beyond traditional textbook problems to interactive games and problem-solving challenges.

School administrators noted the high level of engagement from the community, emphasizing that the event was designed to build confidence in students while providing parents with tools to support learning at home.

“Families showed up ready to learn, play, and explore hands-on activities that brought math to life,” school officials said. “We love seeing our JES Stars growing together!”

The evening’s success was credited to the joint efforts of the faculty and participating families. By fostering a social environment around academic subjects, the school aims to reduce "math anxiety" and encourage a more positive attitude toward STEM education.

Faculty members expressed gratitude to the parents and students whose attendance made the night a success. The event is part of Jonesboro’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and academic excellence.
