J.S. Abrams Elementary Celebrates Read Across America Week

J.S. Abrams Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Week with a series of literacy-focused activities from March 3-7, 2025. The week began with students leading reading and writing activities for their peers. On Tuesday, teachers participated in a “Teacher Swap Day,” switching classes to read books and conduct activities. The event was met with enthusiasm from both teachers and students. Wednesday featured guest readers who shared stories with the students. The school expressed appreciation to the community members who volunteered their time. The week concluded Friday with a “Character Parade,” where students dressed as characters from their favorite books. The parade showcased a wide variety of literary figures, from “Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom” to “Amazing Grace.”
